New Model Proposes Momentum-Dependent Interaction in Neutron Stars
Researchers K. Folias and Ch.C. Moustakidis have proposed a new model for understanding the properties of neutron stars. Their paper, titled "Quarkyonic equation of state with a momentum dependent interaction and neutron star structure," explores the composition of dense nuclear matter, particularly focusing on neutron stars. The study introduces a phenomenological model where the interaction in quarkyonic matter depends on both the position and momentum of quarkyonic particles. This approach aims to provide a more flexible model for the equation of state (EOS) of neutron stars. The findings suggest that this model could significantly impact the understanding of neutron star properties and help constrain the parameterization of the EOS based on recent observational data.
